I had my big camera and lens with me, so I zoomed in and took some close-up photos. What I saw disappointed me. Some of the letters grouped together seemed to spell out a common hateful antisemitic phrase, “Greedy Jew.”
It took 6 days from the time my blog, “Hateful Sculpture in Milwaukee Needs to be Scrapped” posted until Jaume Plensa, a world famous artist, was compelled to remove his Spillover II sculpture.
It took 5 days from the time my article, “How I Discovered Hate in Plain Sight on a Popular Sculpture” posted until, Jaume Plensa, had his Spillover II sculpture removed for “repair”. I had observed that there was an ethnic slur, “Cheap Jew” in plain sight, made from letters of the sculpture.
After taking a few shots of the lake and surrounding area, we walked up to the sculpture. Within 30 seconds of looking at the sculpture, I noticed the letters on the northern side of the statute were not random at all. In fact they clearly spell out the following hateful phrases…
