Fun Ideas For A Summer Day With The Kids

Summer is almost over and it’s time for us to make the most of those final few days and weeks before fall truly takes over. If you are hoping to make the most of the weekend and you have kids, we want to share with you a few ideas of days out you can enjoy as a family.

Here are some of the different ways that you can enjoy a day out with the kids before summer is over.

A trip to the zoo

The zoo is always a popular choice for a day out and the kids will love being able to get up close and personal with the animals. The great thing about the zoo is that you get to see some of the most beautiful creatures in the world, and you’ll also be able to teach your kids about wildlife and the importance of conservation. Visiting the zoo is such an amazing day out idea and it’s always a winner.

A beach day

There’s nothing better than a day out in the sun at the beach with your kids. Digging sand castles and enjoying an ice cream is always a winner and making the most of the warm weather while you can is definitely a good idea. Pack up your Sierra 1500 with towels, beach toys and snacks and enjoy a picnic out on the coast this weekend.

An adventure day

What could be better than heading out for an adventure with the kids this weekend? There are some amazing outdoor adventure parks you can travel to with the kids where they can try their hand at climbing, abseiling, and lots of other adrenaline inducing activities in a safe environment. Sometimes it is great to get out there and try something completely unique and different and this is definitely a brilliant choice for you and your kids this weekend. Plus, by the end of the day the kids will likely be so tired they will go right to sleep!

A movie day

Rainy day this weekend? Who cares! There is no reason why you can’t still enjoy a fun activity with the kids at home. Cover your windows with paper and shut the curtains to make your living room feel like a cinema, and then set up some blankets and enjoy a couple of movies as a family. You can also make some amazing nachos that will be an instant winner with everyone:

Nachos

Ingredients:

  • Doritos
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Jalapeño slices
  • Sour cream
  • Avocado
  • Lime juice
  • Cilantro
  • Salt
  • Salsa
  1. Layer your Doritos flat and add cheese and jalapeños as you want them between each layer. You can also add the salsa here to heat it up.
  2. Microwave your mixture for 2 minutes until melted and bubbling.
  3. Mash an avocado and mix with cilantro, salt, and lime juice.
  4. Add your homemade guacamole and sour cream on the nachos and enjoy.
