Time-Saving Tips for Small Business Entrepreneurs
When you are a small business owner, having some spare time is probably something that you are likely to not a whole heap of. What you will tend to find is that there is a never-ending list of things to do, deadlines to meet, and things to accomplish. So think about how much better your life would be if you were able to get much more done in much less time. Time is short, but there are things that you can do to save time and to be more efficient in business.
Save Time With Automation
Automation is something that is important in business, as there are plenty of small things that need to be done. But if an individual has to sit and do them, then it can take up a whole heap of time. So automation is something that is important. Something like cloud-based accounting solutions is an example of something that could help to automate workflows, and in turn, will save you a lot of time. You may need to do some Xero training to know more about it. But as an example, you can input your vendor’s information into the online accounting system which can then set up a workflow that will automatically pay that vendor on a certain day of each month. You can automate invoices and so on, too.
Robbins Research International surveyed 524 business owners and entrepreneurs from the Tony Robbins Business Mastery alumni group and found out some eye-opening information. The study shows that most business owners (77%) believe they will be able to grow their business through the next recession, even though they are less sure about how they will do so.
Set Goals for the Day
Setting goals is a really good idea for all businesses and individuals, but especially for saving time. Whether you are setting a plan for the day for your team, for yourselves, or for the business as a whole, there are plenty of things that you need to do. When you make a plan, your time is focused, and you know that certain things are going to need to be achieved, making you more productive.
Prioritize
On a similar note to making a plan, you need to think about prioritizing. The plan for the day is only going to go to plan if you are able to set priorities for the things that you have to do. There may be some things that you don’t want to have to do, but they are the most important things to get done. So when you can make a plan for the day, make sure that you prioritize the things that you have planned. It will save time so much more when you are doing the important things first.
Track Your Time
If you want to understand how you really spend your time when working, then for the next few days, think about and write down the things that you are doing and how long these things take to get done. This will make things like coffee breaks, peaking on social media, and checking emails, all really obvious, as these can all be massive time-wasters. From there, you can put plans in place to avoid your biggest time-wasters. This could be things like putting your phone in airplane mode, for example, so that you can work much more efficiently.
