It’s never a nice thing for anybody to go through, but a divorce is something that can give you the opportunity to draw a line between yourself and the past. And yes, while there are so many aspects that may cause problems throughout the process, such as child custody, both parties will want the split to be as quick as possible. So, with this in mind, is there any way for both sides to have a quick and painless divorce, even when there are children involved?

A Structure For Proceedings

Arguably, ensuring that there is a structure in place can make the process as quick and painless for both sides. Perhaps having a deadline for certain debates can help to ensure that it goes as quickly as possible. If you are trying to sell your home, having a property management company that both parties agree on can make sure the house goes quickly. Part of it is to do with working together, but it’s also ensuring that you have a structure with a deadline in place. When it comes to issues like mediation and debate, having a structure is crucial. And yes, while emotions can get in the way, but if you are both trying to make sure that it’s achieved quickly, if you can have that opportunity to debate something, have a cooling-off period and then come back, with a quick turnaround time, this may very well make things quick and as stress free as possible.

Go For An Uncontested Divorce

Conversely, if you are looking for a quick divorce, you could file for a no-fault and uncontested divorce. In some states, it can be a paper only one, rather than bringing in attorneys. There are various factors that needs to be in place, such as an index number, a parenting plan, and affidavit services for the papers, but an uncontested divorce can sometimes require an attorney. And if there are issues with the marital settlement agreement it’s always a good idea to hire an attorney to check this.

Making The Process Painless For Everyone

For all of the practical processes involved with divorce, when there are children involved, we should try to focus on making it as painless for them. Yes, we may be hurt, and yes, our emotions can cloud a lot of our judgment, but we have to remember that as we are going through the process, we have to think about the impact on the children. Making it painless is easier said than done, and a lot of it can be to do with disagreements on the most minuscule of things. But if you are after a quick and relatively painless divorce, you may very well have to let those little issues go, especially in terms of the bigger picture. Sometimes, material goods can get in the way. And this means that we will fight tooth and nail to get that coffee machine. And yes, if it was a long divorce process, they may be worth fighting for, but if you want a quick and easy split, when there are children, you may very well just want to let certain things go.
