Does My Website Need An Upgrade?
Sometimes it’s hard to admit that our website no longer looks so good and that there is a chance that we should part with it in favor of a new one. After all it is your digital baby, who has taken hours upon hours of thought and creativity to produce. You paid for the choice of colors and images, maybe you paid large sums of money to the designer or you purchased guides that helped you do it yourself. The thought of restarting this process may be daunting. At the same time, operating an outdated or non-standard site is not only a decision that harms the overall aesthetics of the site, but also one that can harm the chances of getting leads and inquiries from the site. That is why many brands and individuals choose website designers. Here are some of the symptoms that may indicate that your site is out of date:
1. High exit rates from the page
If you notice that your site is suffering from a high exit rate, it’s probably time to refresh it (you can see this figure in Google Analytics). When this figure is high, it mostly indicates that there is a poor user experience – that is, once your visitor does not have a positive experience while navigating and using your site, they may be disappointed and abandon the site without going to other pages – therefore not seeing everything that your business has to offer.
2. The site loads very slowly
It can be said that this is the most annoying thing that can happen to your surfers. You can check the loading speed of your site to see its speed. In general, if charging takes more than three seconds – it’s time to upgrade. Studies have found that almost half of visitors leave sites that take more than three seconds to load and another study found that every second added to the site’s loading time resulted in 7% fewer conversions.
3. The site no longer matches your brand
Our site needs to be tailored to our brand and speak its language – and if you feel this is not the case, you need to update it. From the logo, the headings to the font and design, every component on the site must reflect the brand of your business. Otherwise, visitors will simply not be able to remember you. A website design makeover can be time consuming, but it is essential to create a unique identity for your business. Remember that visitors who come across your site and are exposed to repetitive design elements ultimately subconsciously associate it with your business.
4. Your site is not responsive
Did you know that three out of five users who visit your site do so from a mobile device? If for some reason your site is not suitable for mobile browsing, your surfers may abandon it and therefore cause high exit rates from the site. The good news is that it can be fixed and a professional developer will be able to make your site accessible to all types of devices.
