Employers have a duty to provide a safe working environment. This means that they must take steps to eliminate or control hazards that can cause injury, provide adequate safety equipment and training for their employees, and ensure that all workers have access to an area where they can safely complete their tasks. Here are four of the top best health and safety practices in the workplace: 

Eliminate or Control Hazards that can Cause Injury

Hazards in the workplace can be physical, chemical, biological, or ergonomic. Hazards may be caused by people, such as a worker who is not following rules or safety precautions while working in a confined space. Or machines like equipment malfunction, processes, or equipment such as lifts and forklifts. Additional hazards may also exist due to the environment surrounding your business.

Hazards can cause injury in many ways: cuts from sharp edges; burns from hot materials like molten metal; carpal tunnel syndrome when repetitive motions are performed for extended periods of time; slips on wet floors; falls from heights onto concrete flooring surfaces etc…

Make Sure you Have Adequate Safety Equipment

It’s also wise to keep track of what goes in and out of your facility on paper or digitally, so if anyone does try something fishy (like stealing something), it will be easy to catch them!
